UK to pay France £660m to stop people from getting on boats, because apparently asking nicely wasn't working

The UK has agreed to pay France £660m over three years to curb Channel crossings, including funding for a riot squad to stop people boarding small boats - adding to an already enormous bill for cross-Channel migration enforcement.
