Stephanie Haridopolos, a senior staffer in the Office of the Surgeon General and wife of Republican Rep. Mike Haridopolos of Florida, has been designated to temporarily carry out the duties of U.S. Surgeon General while the Trump administration works to confirm a permanent nominee.
