US and Iran prepare for ceasefire talks amid continued hostilities and Hormuz tensions

US and Iranian negotiators prepared for high-level ceasefire talks on Friday, as Israel and Hezbollah continued trading fire and Iran maintained its grip on the Strait of Hormuz. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu separately authorised negotiations with Lebanon.
