Chagos Islands sovereignty deal collapses after US withdraws support, UK minister says

UK minister Stephen Doughty has told parliament that the proposed treaty to hand sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius is now dead, after the United States under President Trump withdrew its support for the agreement.
